A Haverhill based soap opera is set to premiere next weekend.

‘Life in the Hill’, a six-part soap telling the tale of two families in Haverhill, will have its first episode shown at the town’s Days Inn hotel on April 14.

A nine-minute documentary of the making of the show will also be broadcast on BBC1’s ‘Inside Out’ show.

Life in the Hill is the invention of Linton Village College (LVC) student Dan Bell, who also set up town radio station Haverhill FM.

Dan, From Bumpstead Road, Haverhill, expects the show to be broadcast on Cambridge-based community channel Envision TV this summer.

He recently finished filming episode one of the show, which he described as a drama more akin to Eastenders than reality-based shows like The Only Way Is Essex.

Dan hopes it will attract the attention of big broadcasters like ITV.
