Accountants Hackett Griffey move into historic Haverhill building after saving it from redevelopment

Haverhill accountants Hackett Griffey has relocated from Mill Road to the former Natwest building in the High Street.

The firm acquired the building at auction in February 2018 and has extensively refurbished the property.

Senior partner Jon Griffey said: “The building is one of the most prominent on the High Street and of significant historical importance to the town so we are pleased to have kept it in local ownership despite competition from other interested parties who were looking to convert it into flats.

“This gives us the capacity to continue our rapid expansion and we will be looking to take on further employees in the near future.

“We have been working with the kind assistance of the Haverhill & District Local History Group to research the history of the building and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has any historical information or old photographs of the building that we can use.

“We plan to have an area of our website dedicated to the building’s history.”

Hackett Griffey will be holding a MacMillan coffee morning on Friday, September 27, and is welcoming Haverhill residents to pop in and join them.
