Parkrun at Clare Castle Country Park celebrates first birthday
A milestone was passed at Clare Castle Country Park on Saturday, as a weekly event celebrated its first birthday.
The 50th Clare parkrun saw the mileage covered by runners pass 28,000km.
Sarah Deban, race director, said parkrun had been well supported by the community.
"It has been phenomenal. There are so many people in Clare who now run regularly," she said. "We see families who run together and elderly people who walk the route."
She thanked the volunteers and trustees of the country park who made the runs possible.
The free timed 5km run is every Saturday at 9am.
