The owner of Jaybeth animal sanctuary in Barnardiston has expressed her gratitude to everyone who donated food, blankets and bedding over the Christmas period.

Just before Christmas Barclays Bank and Sainsbury’s in Haverhill ran food appeals for the sanctuary, while the general public and other businesses such as the Nissa Stores in Kedington and Kedington Butchers continued with their regular donations of help.

Carol Harris, who has run Jaybeth for 37 years, said: “I just really want people to know how very grateful I am on behalf of my animals that are here and the animals that continue to find new homes.

“It’s about people from this area who support this place and it gets bigger, the support.”
