For the fourth year running Ashdon Primary School swimmers tasted success in the Uttlesford Small Schools gala.

Finishing third in the Year 3/4 event the older children needed a fantastic performance to ensure the school retained the overall trophy, and thanks to some superb individual and team efforts they managed it by five points.

Headteacher Gary Brown was thrilled with the overall victory which ensured that the Year 6 children remained unbeaten in small school galas throughout their time in the school.

He said: “We have a number of talented swimmers, but the team is also made up of children who only swim a few times a year.

“They all come together as a team to succeed in this competition.”
