Bury St Edmunds air cadets help out at South Suffolk Show
There was a good turnout of cadets from 301 (Bury St Edmunds) Squadron at The South Suffolk Show in Ampton.
They helped enthusiastically with parking for the estimated 10,000 to 12,000 people who went to the show.
Cadet, Yasmin Darley, said: “Despite the workload everyone’s spirits were up at all times as our help was well received by the visiting public who all had a kind word in return to our cadets.
“All cadets were feeling part of the community by helping to make what turned out to be a perfect day out for everyone.
“We would like to say a sincere ‘thank you’ to the public who donated generously and kindly to 301 Squadron who were collecting at the exit of the parking area.
“We also would like to express our thanks to the organisers of the South Suffolk show, donating a generous cheque raising the total amount of donations to a fantastic £845.”
Even though the cadets all went home tired, they thoroughly enjoyed helping their local community and it was great to hear such positive feedback from the public, added Yasmin.
If you are interested in joining the Air Cadets we are having a recruit open evening on Tuesday, June 9 from 7.30pm.
