A group approached a man in Haverhill town centre before stealing a bag containing expensive camera equipment.

The incident took place between 6.45pm and 7pm on Saturday, April 25.

A group approached a young man in Jubilee walk and, after distracting him for several minutes, left. The young man then noticed that his bag, which had contained camera equipment, and his hooded jacket, had been taken.

The bag was an Elements back pack. It contained a Nikon camera and two lenses.

The bag also contained the young man’s wallet and a small quantity of cash.

The camera lenses are worth about £200 while the camera itself is worth about £500.

It’s thought that the total value of the items taken, including the walled and bag, is £856.

Police are currently conducting CCTV inquiries and urge anyone with any information to come forward.

Anyone who can help should call Haverhill police on 101.
