Haverhill Rovers and Haverhill Community Sports Association (HCSA) have teamed up to organise car boot sales every Sunday throughout the summer to help boost their income.

The car boot sales will get underway at The New Croft, in Chalkstone Way on May 10 and take place at the same venue every Sunday thereafter until August 30.

The idea came about, said HCSA facilities manager and football development officer, Peter Betts, following a suggestion from Haverhill Cricket Club that the New Croft car park could be used for such a venture.

Mr Betts said: “It’s a time of year when football clubs and football-based facilities don’t really get revenue coming in yet their expenditure is huge.

“I am really keen to ensure I offer the football club my full support with this venture as seeing them have a successful season next year is only going to be good for the town.”

The car boot sales run from 8am until midday (the car park opens at 7.30am) and costs £7 per car.

Refreshments and toilets and available and entry is free to the public.
