Members of the cast from the recent Linton Village College performance of Bugsy Malone were at the local Co Op on May 1 to cut the ribbon at the opening of the improved store.

The shop, in Linton’s High Street, had been closed since April 18 for renovation work.

The students were invited to open the store after the show was sponsored by the Co-op.

The ribbon was cut by Travis Parr, who played the title character Bugsy Malone.

The show was put on in March and was well received.

About 80 students, aged 11 to 16, took part in the production and others were involved in the orchestra and technical and backstage teams.

The show was a great success and well received.
