Haverhill dance teacher celebrates success of her school
The founder of a Linton-based dance school is celebrating its second anniversary with a special show.
The Amy Leigh Academy of Dance will be holding the show from 4.30pm at Quay Mill Hotel and Spa Summer Marque, Stow-cum-Quay, Cambridge on July 8.
Amy-Leigh Sellers, 20, who is from Haverhill, overcame the disappointment of seeing a knee injury end her own hopes of a career on stage, to launch the school at The Grip, in Hadstock Road.
The show is a display of many different dance genres, ranging from jazz, lyrical, rock n roll and much more and has a demonstration from its 20 -strong competition team.
There will also be awards presented and examination trophies awarded to the student who participated in the exam session back in March.
The school has had a successful two years with nearly 80 registered students, aged from two to 14 and runs two weekday classes and three on a Saturday plus one to one private tuition.
She said: “We would benefit from further sponsorship for area and national competitions for our competition team. We would love to connect with local businesses around the Haverhill and Linton area.”
