The Mayor of St Edmundsbury Cllr Robert Everitt will be dining on sausage and mash at a fund-raiser near Haverhill later this month.

The Haverhill branch of Action Medical Research has organised the great sausage and mash event for more than ten years.

Money raised assists with medical research into diseases affecting children with a recent project including funding towards developing a vaccine against meningitis.

Around 150 people are expected to attend the event on Sunday, February 22 at Hall Barn, Great Thurlow, next to the parish church.

The barn has been made available by kind permission of the Vestey family, owners of the Thurlow Estate.

Cllr Everitt said: “I am very pleased to be able to support this fund-raising event.

“The charity is helping with invaluable research including work on a vaccine against meningitis.

“It is a very popular annual event. I love sausage and mash and I am very much looking forward to my lunch.”

Tickets cost £15 for adults or £8 for children. The Sunday lunchtime event includes a mulled wine reception and home cooked two course meal.

Cheques for tickets to the event must be made payable to Action Medical Research and can be obtained from Mrs G Argent,

Messings Farm, Eggshell Lane, Cornish Hall End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 4HJ.
