Charity donations served up by Haverhill school’s community cafè
Cafè Coupals, the community cafè run once a month by pupils and staff at Coupals Primary Academy in Haverhill, made a series of cheque presentations to charities during its final day of opening in this school year.
Guests were served afternoon tea before cheques were presented to Simon Edwards on behalf of Guide Dogs for the Blind, Julie Selwood; British Heart Foundation, Tania Watson; Cancer Research UK and Dr David Donovan; New Foundations.
The donations came from the tips that have been given to the year five pupils who have run the cafè since it was launched four years ago. The pupils selected the charities they wanted the money to go to.
Dr Donovan was also presented with a bag of baby clothes and a further donation made from monies raised by pupils that made and sold bracelets and other items.
