Youngsters enjoyed a spellbinding night at Haverhill Library as they celebrated the magic of J K Rowling’s young wizard, Harry Potter.

Around 30 children took part in the event, with Wizard duels, a treasure hunt, an enchanted paper activity, lucky dip and colouring competition all part of the fun.

Kate Ashton, assistant manager, said: “It was a really enjoyable event and we had some great feedback from children and parents who are already looking forward to next year.

“Twenty-eight children came along – some wore fancy dress, as did library staff.”

She added: “It was a very popular event which shows that the magic of Harry Potter and the books is very much alive.”
