A school in Clare has held its second annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Fair.

Stour Valley Community School’s event last Wednesday (February 10) featured engineering ambassadors, many provided through Connect Education and Business, who promoted a wide variety of careers within a range of engineering industries.

Representatives from companies like BT, Bosch, Pepsico, TREATT, Siemens and the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers demonstrated what they did on a day-to-day basis and helped relate industry to students’ science, technology, maths and computing lessons.

The construction industry was also represented with Morrish, Morgan Sindall, J Breheny and Tarmac capturing pupils’ imaginations and promoting careers and higher level apprenticeships within their industry.
