Students from Stour Valley Community School in Clare have sent stacks of boxes filled with gifts to disadvantaged children.
They donated the gifts and filled and decorated the boxes for Operation Christmas Child before taking them to a collection and sorting depot in Sudbury.
Items given included teddy bears, sweets, colouring pencils and toothbrushes.
Cath Bank, the school’s deputy head, said: “They were amazed by the number of boxes which have been donated and then spent the morning working with volunteers to check each box, ensuring that the contents were appropriate for the age of the recipient child.
“Staff and students have thanked the team for allowing them to take part in such a large event which benefits so many less fortunate children.”
