Convincing win for Conservatives’ Heidi Allen in Cambridgeshire South

Conservative parliamentary candidate, Heidi Allen, will replace Andrew Lansley in parliament after a convincing win in her South Cambridgeshire constituency.

Ms Allen took 31,454 votes, a share of 51.1 per cent, beating her nearest rival, Labour’s Dan Greef’s share of 17.6 per cent of the vote.

In third place, the Liberal Democrats’ Sebastian Kindersley secured 15.2 per cent of the electorate, with 9,368 votes in his favour.

In fourth place, UKIP’s Marion Mason gained, 6,010 votes, a proportion of 9.8 per cent while, in fifth place, the Greens’ Simon Saggers got 3,848 votes, a proportion of 6.3 per cent.
