Falling pallets resulted in death of Dzintars Klementjevs at Culina Logistics in Haverhill
A worker died when pallets collapsed onto him following a collision inside a warehouse in Haverhill, a coroners court has heard.
Dzintars Klementjevs, 44, had been operating a scrubber machine inside the building at Culina Logistics in Iceni Way on Thursday, November 22.
Today, Suffolk Coroners Court in Ipswich heard that the scrubber had collided with a forklift truck, resulting in storage pallets collapsing onto Mr Klementjevs.
Assistant Suffolk Coroner Dr Daniel Sharpstone said Mr Klementjevs, of Boxford Court, Haverhill was trapped as pallets collapsed and was later declared dead at the scene.
Latvian-born Mr Klementjevs had worked at the company for six years.
Dr Sharpstone adjourned the inquest to allow the completion of enquiries.
As a gesture of respect, friends and colleagues of Mr Klementjevs had got together and lit candles outside Culina on the Saturday after his death.
