Impressive patchworking by young crafters at Haverhill craft studio

Five students ranging from the ages of nine to 14 each created an eye-catching quilt at a school holiday workshop run by Snobby Eddy Crafts Studio in Hollands Road, Haverhill.

For three hours a week they worked on a quilt with a theme of their choosing, namely Harry Potter, mystical animals, Mr Men and Disney and created their images using a variety of textiles, fabric pens and other mixed media.

They had nine blocks each to create with their images before sewing borders around it and then backing.

Debby Dyson, who owns the crafts studio in The Menta Business Centre, said: "Bearing in mind this was the first time they have created a quilt in this way, the results were fantastic and lots of new skills were learnt along the way."
