Dale Bennett and the Incidentals, from Haverhill, are releasing their debut album after a busy summer on stage.
The band, made up of Dale on keyboards and guitar, Alex Coombes on lead guitar, Jack Sunaway on bass, acoustic guitar player Michael Pullman and drummer Luke Andrews, release their debut album, Signals, on August 13.
The band have had a roller coaster year, supporting X-Factor runner-up Ray Quinn and more recently Go West at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds as well as playing a host of gigs all over the region.
Dale, who started off as a solo act, said he much preferred playing as part of a group.
“It’s great – if anything goes wrong I can blame it on the others,” he said.
“I find playing in a band just brings so much to the music, it really brings it to life. It can also be lonely experience walking on stage just you and your guitar.
“It is great sharing the fun. We have a lot of laughs and a bit of banter. I don’t think I will ever go back to playing solo.”
Dale began as a solo singer songwriter so had written much of the album on his own.
But he said his band members were crucial to creating the group’s final sound.
“I write the songs and we pull them together as a group, he said. “Our drummer will be better at thinking up drum beats than I would, for example, so the best people to write their parts are my band mates themselves.”
