A `pop up’ Valentine’s Disco at Haverhill Arts Centre is being planned on short notice due to a late cancellation at the centre.

The old school-style disco is open to all and will take place from 8pm until midnight on Saturday, February 14 with all proceeds going to the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Arts Centre manager, Nick Keeble, offered the opportunity to the charity when the centre unexpectedly became available.

The event is being co-ordinated by the Gower family and their friends who lost their daughter Jess to primary bone cancer in December 2010.

Shirley Gower said: “It was a lovely surprise to be offered the chance to use the arts centre for a fund raising event but also a challenge with only two weeks to get things organised.

“We are really grateful to Nick and to Danny Grimshaw who has agreed to DJ on the night.”

Tickets are £5 and will be available on the door.
