Early deliveries at Haverhill supermarket are opposed

St Edmundsbury Borough Council is considering whether to allow Tesco in Cangle Road to take deliveries at 5am.

Councillors, Maureen Byrne and Tony Brown argued against the idea. A decision on whether or not to allow this will be taken early next year. For now, the committee is minded to refuse the idea.

“I’m disappointed they didn’t give a full refusal,” said Cllr Brown. “We managed to persuade the committee on an eight to four ratio that it should be minded for refusal.

“I’m hoping that, when it comes back, they’ll have full grounds to refuse the application.”
