ROUNDABOUT IS NOT MODEL ANSWER
A model of what could happen if a roundabout were to be built on the A1307 devastated campaigners.
Access 1307 said the queues on a computer model of the road, showing the proposed £1 million roundabout at Bartlow Road crossroads, were of great concern to residents who said they simply needed safe access to the main road. Chairman and spokeswoman for the group, Esther Cornell, said they had considered the roundabout to be the solution to the problems residents faced when turning right onto the road at rush hour.
NEIGHBOURS LIGHT UP TO RAISE HOSPICE CASH
Neighbours in a quiet village did more than deck their halls with boughs of holly at Christmas.
Instead, they festooned their homes with lights and decorations.
Residents in Plumian Way, Goodlisse Avenue and field End in Balsham lit up their homes in aid of East Anglia’s children’s hospices.
Celia Daniels of Plumian Way said they got the idea after reading an appeal in the Haverhill Echo for readers to consider decorating their homes for charity.
