Festive fun at hospice centre in Haverhill

Partygoers enjoyed festive fun at St Nicholas Hospice Care’s outreach centre in Haverhill on Wednesday.

The Burton Centre, in Camps Road, welcomed 50 patients, carers, families and loved ones for a Christmas party, including food, games and entertainment.

Haverhill-based duo Ocean Range, made up of father and son Gary and Mark Ledain, gave their time for free to perform a range of seasonal tunes and classics including Mack the Knife, Let’s Fly Away and Let’s Face the Music and Dance.

Following food, guests enjoyed a guess the baby quiz and musical bingo.

Moira Welham, hospice head of community partnership, said: “The party was great fun.

“People who are affected by long-term and life-threatening illnesses want to have fun in a safe environment, and that’s what the party has all been about.”
