Fostering agency, Little Acorns, is holding its annual open day on Saturday (May 9) in the grounds of their offices in Great Wratting.
Recent reports by the Fostering Network show that over 9,000 fostering families will be needed to meet the needs of some very vulnerable children in 2015.
Little Acorns is holding the open day to inform everybody on how they could make a difference to these children’s lives.
The purpose of the day is simple – to find more foster carers – with real life accounts, an open and honest application process and ongoing training and support.
There will be fun and games for the kids and a chance to learn more about fostering in an informal environment. A barbeque and refreshments will also be provided. The open day runs from midday to 4pm.

Registered manager, Cheryl Jillions, commented: “We want to give everyone the opportunity to come along, chat to our carers and staff and find out what fostering is really about.”
Little Acorns was established with the core objective to recruit, train and support foster carers and to provide unrivalled standards of care for the children we work with.
The open day is being held with an open invitation – for anyone who wants to learn more about fostering.
A member of the team at Little Acorns said: “There are thousands of children who require a loving home, becoming a foster carer can be a very rewarding experience.
“We have put this event together to make people aware of what is involved and how important the work is.”
