TGA Mobility located in Sudbury is hosting a free-to-attend ‘Safe Scoot’ Awareness Day so East Anglian mobility scooter users can discover how to maximise safety when driving.
TGA’s ‘Safe Scoot’ Day – driver awareness for mobility scooter users - takes place on Thursday, April 23 from 12 to 3pm at TGA, Woodhall Business Park, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 1WH.
Admission if free and no advance booking is required.
This event is being held on the spacious forecourt of TGA’s independent living showroom, which provides the largest range of mobility products in the East of England.
TGA’s ‘Safe Scoot’ Day is a free event that will provide mobility scooter owners with all the latest tips and advice on safety.
Specialist, friendly trainers will be on hand to guide drivers around a course that demonstrates common hazards that may be faced when travelling by scooter.
This is an informative event providing advice, not a driving test, and will help existing scooter users be more aware of their own capabilities, whilst enhancing pedestrian safety.
It also provides the ideal opportunity for non-owners to try a scooter for the first time in a safe environment.
Representatives from East Anglian Driveability – a local association that supports elderly and disabled people with driving, mobility and independence, will be available at the event.
Local people can either bring their own scooter or choose to ride a new model from TGA’s extensive range that will be on display.
The charity Suffolk Family Carers, will also be attending this safe driving awareness day in their demonstration bus so home carers can discover the range of support services they offer.
Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director comments: “TGA is a caring, ethical company focused on maximising the safety of our customers and local pedestrians.
“We believe appropriate and thorough driver training is critical before anyone takes control of a mobility scooter. “The TGA team also delivers a structured assessment procedure before purchase to ensure the right product is supplied every time.
“These combine to deliver the best possible experience from owning a scooter, both in terms of safety and peace of mind.
“Worry-free independence is so important to well-being when you live with restricted mobility – our free ‘Safe Scoot’ day will enhance this for sure.
“Whatever type of scooter is owned, whether it’s branded TGA or not,
“I would encourage all scooter users in East Anglia to attend our event for greater peace of mind. No pre-booking is required.”
