Funeral details announced for late Haverhill councillor

The funeral of the former mayor of Haverhill and St Edmundsbury, Cllr Tim Marks, will take place in Haverhill on Tuesday (January 19).

Cllr Marks died on Monday of last week (4) while conducting a site visit in Bury St Edmunds with the St Edmundsbury Council development control committee. He was 78.

The funeral service will be held at St Mary’s Church, in High Street, Haverhill at midday, followed by refreshments at Haverhill Arts Centre at 1pm.

A cremation will then be held at 4.30pm at the West Suffolk Crematorium, in Risby, near Bury St Edmunds.

Tributes have been pouring in since Mr Marks died.

He was a well known and popular public figure and served, among other things, as a county councillor for Haverhill Cangle and a borough councillor for Haverhill North.
