Following a triumphant open-air performance in August, disco legends Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband will return to Haverhill for a special ‘Ladies Night’ concert on February 6.
Performing the greatest hits of disco in costumes that make Liberace look conservative, the band delighted a crowd of over 4,000 at their debut concert in Haverhill.
Uncle Funk’s front man Simonella Funkenfurta said: “We received a great reaction when we played in the Market Square in August.
“It was literally the hottest night of the year, so we’re looking forward to creating another Disco Inferno at the Haverhill Arts Centre on February 6.”
Vocalist Miss Susan Pinkie (aka BeyonSue!) said: “Fellas, this is your chance to treat your partners to an early Valentine’s present with a night on the dancefloor. They’ll thank you later, trust us!”
Having also been a huge hit at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, fans are advised to buy early to avoid disappointment.
Their recent date at Saffron Walden Town Hall sold-out in less than three days.
Uncle Funk’s drummer Wazzlington Squigglesmooth said: “Anyone who has seen us play before will tell you this, bring your dancing shoes. You’ll need ‘em!”
