A fire at a domestic garage in Sturmer Road is being treated as suspicious.

Crews from Haverhill and Clare attended the incident on December 24 at about 5.30am.

The fire was brought under control at 06.33am using 1 hose reel.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Services are treating the fire as suspicious and have informed the police.

“It’s a strange one,” said Inspector Peter Ferrie of Haverhill police. “We’ll me making our own investigations.”

It is understood the fire began outside the premises but soon spread to the inside of the building and damaged some furniture that was being stored there.

A crime scene investigation will take place. Anyone with information is asked to contact Haverhill police on 101.
