Harmony for Haverhill Choral Society at Christmas

An enthusiastic audience at Haverhill Methodist Church was able to join in singing popular Christmas carols at Haverhill Methodist Church.

The concert took place on Saturday, December 13.

The concert was organised by Haverhill Choral Society, whose Chair, Roma Holmes introduced the evening and invited the audience to sing the better-known carols.

Under the direction of Jane Wright, the society’s musical director, and with Nigel Brown accompanying on organ, the choir of 40 provided harmonious backing as well as entertaining with some popular Christmas melodies.

After an enjoyable evening, refreshments were provided.

Rehearsals for next year’s main concert which will feature “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff will commence on Monday, January 12 at 7.30pm in the Drama Studio at the Samuel Ward Academy.

The are now looking to add to their membership in the new year.

Anyone who would like to enjoy the benefits of singing, particularly with this popular piece, is invited to stay.
