Residents were treated to the sight of PC Mark Ellis doing the rounds in Haverhill on Monday (February 9) astride a very unusual vehicle.
“When I joined the force in Mildenhall, this was my bike,” said PC Ellis, who has worked in Haverhill since 2011. “Since then it’s been gathering dust. I’ve done it up and it’s ready to use again.”
The 30 year old bike is complete with powered lights, a horn and an onboard speed gun, as well as an eye catching, blue and white paint job.
“Everyone smiles and laughs when they see it coming,” said PC Ellis. “It’s a bit of an old bone shaker, but it brings a little thrill to the people of Haverhill.”
