The Centre Stage Company’s next offering, The Vicar of Dibley, is anticipated to hit record ticket sales.
The play is being performed at Haverhill Arts Centre at 7.30pm from next Thursday (19) to Saturday (21), with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday.
The plot focuses on Geraldine Grainger’s (Becca Neal) arrival in Dibley and the romance that blossoms between Hugo Horton (Adam Mepham) and Alice, leading to their eventual marriage.
All of this happens alongside Geraldine’s power struggles with parish council chairman, David Horton (Alan Barney), with the familiar support characters of Jim, Owen, Frank and Mrs Cropley all in the mix.
Kelly Mepham, who plays Alice, said the show is ‘very funny’ adding: “Our standards are getting higher and higher per show. I think we are going to have record sales for a play.”
Centre Stage is giving 20 per cent of show’s ticket sales to Comic Relief.
