This autumn’s production by the Centre Stage Company will see audience involvement take a new twist when it takes place at Haverhill Arts Centre.

The award-winning Haverhill based amateur dramatics company’s youth section will be starring in The Addams Family when it comes to the arts centre from October 20 to 24.

Megan Brewster and Lee Mayes have taken on the responsibilities of joint directors and have promised a show to remember.

Megan said of the production: “It is full of comedy and witty one liners and loveable and recognisable characters, toe-tapping music and it is pure fun and delight for the whole family.”

Centre Stage want this show to be different form its usual productions and for the ‘Addams Experience’ to hit the audience as soon as they get through the door.

To achieve this they are giving the whole of the arts centre a make-over, transporting the audience to the Addams family mansion and not just a theatre auditorium.

On the Saturday (24) matinee and evening performances there will be prizes on offer for the best fancy-dressed child and adult as the audience are encouraged to dig out their Halloween costumes early.

The musical follows a grown up Wednesday Addams (Laura Dodd), who has fallen in love with smart young man that her parents have never met.

Wednesday asks her dad, Gomez (Baran Firat) not to tell her mother Morticia (Daisy Webb) about her new ‘normal’ beau, leaving him having to keep the secret from his wife.

Everything changes for the family when they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

Performances are at 7.30pm every day from October 20 to 24, with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee on the final day.
