Planners were expected to give the go ahead for to Dalehead Foods to extend their factory and create up to 120 more jobs.

Despite the creation of so many new jobs the parish councils in the area said they deplored such large scale development in the countryside and objected to it.

The planning director recommended that planners approve the application.


A Kedington mum of two children with a very rare matabolic disorder was preparing to stage her first fund-raising event to help fight it.

Tanya Watson’s two children, Matthew, five, and Faye, ten months, had Beradinelli Lipodystraphy Syndrome. Their hospital doctor told them that he knew of only two other children in the world that had the condition.

The condition caused the two children to grow and age more quickly than usual because they lacked body fat.

Tanya was staging a coffee morning and afternoon at her house in aid of the Research Trust into Matabolic Disorders in Children.
