Haverhill Echo ten years ago

Echo, December 8, 2005

Staff at Déjàvu café in Queen Street, Haverhill, took customer satisfaction to a different level by posing for a saucy calendar to raise money for charity.

However, the staff were not actually appearing disrobed, at least only one of them was.

The inspiration for the calendar came from employee Siobhan Fisk, who appeared in Nuts magazine and was voted Nuts’ Real Girl of the Year by readers.

Staff, including owner Harry Zachariou, were photographed and their heads were superimposed on to Siobhan’s body for the shots used in the calendar.

Haverhill’s MP Richard Spring continued the fight against the Hazel Stud roundabout phone mast.

He wrote letters of protest to deputy prime minister John Prescott and to Bob Fuller, chief executive of Hutchinson 3G UK Limited, the company that put the mast up.

Despite protests by Mr Spring and the community, the mast was given the go ahead and put up.
