Haverhill Leisure Centre staff and customers collected sackfuls of presents for Addenbrooke’s Hospital Children’s Ward and St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Staff gave out 60 presents generously donated by colleagues and customers through their Giving Tree Appeal.

For two weeks, customers and staff have been taking tags from the ‘Giving Tree’ in the Centre’s reception to buy presents for children who they have never met.

James Purkiss, manager of Haverhill Leisure Centre, said: “We were utterly thrilled at the number of presents donated. There is no stopping the generosity of people in Haverhill. “

“By adding an extra gift to their shopping list this year they have helped us put a smile on faces of children having a really tough time. We cannot thank people enough for their support and generosity.”
