A simple plan to get a hair cut led to a Haverhill mum raising £220 (and counting) for charity.

Louise Cook, 25, of Covehite Court, had over one foot of her hair cut off at Sonia’s Hair & Beauty in Haverhill, later sending the hair to the Little Princess Trust and raising the money through her Just Giving account - www.justgiving.com/Louise-Cook32.

She looked into the idea of turning a planned-for hair cut into a money-maker for charity after the idea was suggested by her mum and found the Little Princess Trust on the internet.

The charity makes wigs for children that have lost their hair because of treatment for cancer.

Louise, who has a son, James, said: “I’ve got a little boy who is three and I like to think that if anything happened to him someone would help him.”
