George Burroughs of The Stroke Association, East Division, received a cheque for £1,537.80 from Haverhill Rovers player-manager Michael Shinn and chairman Ali Shulver, before Rovers match with Felixstowe & Walton United last night (Tuesday).

Rovers held a fund-raising day on March 7 during and after the visit of Thetford Town for a Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division fixture.

The club chose to donate part of the proceeds from the day to the Stroke Association in honour of long-time supporter and former committee member, Nick Wray, who is recovering from a serious stroke suffered in early January.

Rovers also invited all of the club’s sponsors ,from under-6 through to Vets, to the Felixstowe match as a very big thank you.
