Rail history in Haverhill will be the hot topic at the next meeting of the Haverhill Family History Group.

The guest speaker at the meeting will be Mike Stanbury, museum curator at the East Anglian Railway Museum and secretary of the National Railway Heritage Awards, who will talk on ‘150 years since the coming of the GER to Haverhill North Station.’

The meeting takes place at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 14 at the Old Independent Church Hall in Hamlet Road.

There will also be a display about the railway in Haverhill, provided by the Haverhill Local History Group and hopefully a model of Haverhill North Station. The event costs £2.50 to attend, which includes tea or coffee.
