Haverhill school café ‘staff’ say g’day to special visitors

A Haverhill primary school welcomed some visitors from Australia to its latest monthly community café.

Café Coupals, which has been run at Coupals Primary Academy by year five pupils one Thursday a month for the past three years, was visited by Jan and Charlie Leaney, from the Australian Lions charity.

They had been visiting Haverhill and popped in for a coffee and cake.

Pupils George Harber and Vivienne Payne were head waiter and manager, respectively, for the afternoon.

Also joining them were Elaine McManus, Coupals chair of governors and Jacqueline Stewart, a fellow school governor.
