Pupils and staff at Westfield Primary Academy in Haverhill enjoyed raising money for Children in Need by becoming a hero for the day.

As part of the school’s ‘Be a Hero’ day, pupils and staff dressed up as their heroes and enjoyed meeting ‘Iron Man’, which caused lots of excitement around the academy.

The day was co-ordinated by Year One teacher, Charlotte Graves, who said: “I am very pleased with the support of staff, parents and families in raising money for this fantastic event.”

The school’s year one pupils also took cakes into school and sold them in the main hall during the morning to further boost the fund-raising.

In all, Westfield managed to raise £675.50.
