Haverhill’s town clock looks like it will be finished soon, despite delays to its completion.

The clock will be put up in Haverhill’s Jubilee Plaza.

It was designed by students at Samuel Ward Academy under the supervision of the school’s head of art and design, Neil Williams.

The design will include a ring of stainless-steel angels surrounding the clock.

The project had originally been supposed to have been completed this month. It is now likely that the clock will be finished by the end of April.

At a meeting of Haverhill town council on Tuesday, March 17, town clerk, Colin Poole updated the council on the progress of the project.

He said: “Yesterday [Monday], we had a visit from the clock manufacturers.

“We saw the angels and the school has started work on the main tower. It’s going to be quite big. It’ll certainly be seen from a distance and visible over the top of the busses there.

“The whole thing looks really impressive. It’s all with the manufacturers now to have the technical bits fitted to it. We’re on course to have it ready to install by April.”
