The first of a series of events being held in Clare to commemorate the town’s connection to the Magna Carta takes place on Saturday, April 25.

The Magna Carta in Clare Festival 1215-2015 gets underway with an inaugural 8.5 mile walk along the newly-signposted Heritage Trail between Clare Castle and Castle Hedingham, linking the castle of the barons Richard and Gilbert de Clare, Earls of Hertford and Gloucester, and Robert de Vere, Earl of Oxford.

It starts at about 9.30am and participants will receive a printed map and brochure indicating principal sites along the walk.
