Traffic was brought to a halt in Haverhill on Monday (February 16) as a huge crane was brought in to help another crane that had got stuck in a building site in Withersfield Road.
“I think it’s hilarious,” said witness, Richard Murray, who works opposite the building site. “They brought the smaller crane in and built up around it, then found they couldn’t get it out.
“The bigger crane had to rescue it.
“I think it’s the biggest crane there has ever been in Haverhill.
“I dread to think what it must have cost them to bring it in.”
The Withersfield Road site, which is being built by French SEH Construction, is to be a housing development for Havebury.
