An inquest has been opened into the death of a man in a house fire in Haverhill.

On Tuesday, April 28, the inquest heard how firefighters had initially been unable to reach the top floor of the three storey property in Bellings Road on February 19 because of intense heat and smoke.

Later the body of Delroy Watson, 49, was found on the top floor, said Assistant Suffolk Coroner Yvonne Blake.

Ms Blake said no cause of death had yet been confirmed and that tests were continuing.

The inquest was adjourned until June.
