Chalkstone Karate Club in Haverhill has raised £300 for the town’s St Nicholas Hospice Care Outreach Centre through an open evening.

The public got a chance to try out karate and make donations.

Jordan Hughes, Community Fundraiser, collected a cheque last week.

He said: “The centre

hasn’t been open a year yet and already the support it has been shown has been excellent. Thank you to the club for thinking of us.”

The Burton Centre, in Camps Road, offers care and support to people facing long term or life-

threatening illnesses, and their families.

For more information attend a Community and Stakeholder Event on Thursday, February 19.
