Kittens rescued from Haverhill house fire

Four kittens were rescued after a fire broke out in a house in Haverhill.

The fire service responded to the incident at 6.30am on Thursday, May 21.

Two appliances from Haverhill were mobilised to an address in Wellum Close after receiving reports of a house on fire.

Crews arrived on scene to find a fire in a first floor bedroom of a property.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and by 07.13am, the incident was under control.

The four kittens were rescued by fire crews from a cage in the downstairs dining area.

All fire personnel had left the scene by 08.12am.
