If you have been inspired by watching Mo Farah and 36,000 others in the London Marathon, then the popular Chilford 10k, which returns to Linton on Sunday June, 15, may be for

The race has a new one-lap route beginning and ending at Linton Village College. It starts on the football pitch and there is car parking, changing and toilet facilities available at Linton Community Sport Centre.

After two short laps around the college, runners will climb to Linton Water Tower on the outskirts of the village before enjoying the scenery of Chilford Hall vineyard and the descent back to LVC via Little Linton.

This is a multi-terrain route on a mixture of footpaths and traffic-free roads with a river crossing over a wooden bridge towards the end.

Children under 16 have their own 3k Fun Run, which follows a section of the 10k route around the college and the recreation ground. What better way to enjoy Father’s Day than to take part with your parents?

Entry for the 10k is £8 for members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs and £10 for others in advance, with a £2 supplement on the day.

Entry for the Fun Run is £5 in advance or £7 on the day. There will be prizes for the winners and mementos for all finishers thanks to the generosity of sponsors Ashcroft & Sons butchers, Body Design Pilates, Chilford Hall, The Dog & Duck, Kevin Henry and Sweatshop.

The race is also supported by Saffron Striders Running Club, Linton Community Sport Centre and Iceni Water.

All of the funds raised will go to projects supported by the Friends of Linton Village College.
