Linton Scarecrow Festival to make its debut appearance

The first ever Linton Scarecrow Festival takes place from Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages over the weekend around Camping Close, The Infants’ School and St Mary’s Church.

Events include a dog show and miniature railway on Saturday, music by several groups, a Saturday evening concert by the Grove Singers of London, talks, stalls, a bar, flowers in the church, teddy bear jumps from the church tower (Sunday), duck race (Sunday) and a grand draw.

There will be a restaurant in the Infants’ School on Saturday and Sunday and a Songs of Praise service at 5pm on Sunday.

A programme for the weekend costs £1 and will be available from St Mary’s Church on Friday, June 29 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, The Infants’ School on Saturday, from 10am to 5pm and Sundayfrom 11am to 5pm.

The Festival logo was designed by two pupils from Linton Heights Junior School following a competition.
