The parents, carers and friends of Linton Heights Junior School gave up their day on Saturday to help refurbish the school swimming pool area.

Head teacher James Puxley organised the day, in which the pool was readied for swimming lessons for the pupils after half term and for the community swimming scheme during the school summer holidays.

The school received a £650 donation from Linton Parish Council and £100 from Nationwide, the employer of one of its parents, towards the refurbishment.

The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) supplied refreshments on the day.
