A police helicopter was used to help track down and arrest a man suspected of trying to con an elderly man in Haverhill.
Police were called at around 1.30pm on Tuesday (21) to reports of three men who had been seen going into the rear garden of an elderly resident in Chalkstone Way.
Officers attended the address and it transpired that the men had told the resident – a man in his 80s - that they could do some repairs to his property, before leaving abruptly.
A search of the area was carried-out, assisted by the police helicopter, and a 29-year-old man from Witham was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released on Police bail until Wednesday, June 17 pending further enquires.
